Jan 1     Paul and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Rain all day. The creeks are high today.

Jan 2     The children and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair cool day.

Jan 3     This morning I hauled out manure. This evening I went to Hayden. Fair cold day.

Jan 4     This morning I helped John Adolph butcher. This evening I hauled out manure. Pleasant day.

Jan 5     Today I hauled out some manure and hauled in some wood. Warm cloudy with some rain this evening.

Jan 6     This morning Paul and I hauled in some shock corn. Joe Stewart came up from Seymour for the day. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 7     This morning I took a can of cream to Hayden. This evening I hauled out manure. Fair cold day.

Jan 8     Bess and I went to town today. I took 20 bu.wheat along worth $1.15. Will Bertram and wife came from Indianapolis this morning. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 9     The children and I went to church this morning. After dinner went over to Paw's to see Will and Mary. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 10     Rainy day. Nothing done today. Paul & Alice started to school in the new school house at Hayden today.

Jan 11     Rain all day. Nothing done today.

Jan 12     This morning I took Granny's old cow to town and sold to Nobe. Some hard rain today.

Jan 13     Will Bertram and wife and Louise ate dinner with us today. Cold blustery day.

Jan 14     Bess and I went to town today. Fair cold day. Coldest night and day. 4 above zero this morning.

Jan 15     This morning I hauled out manure. This evening Bess and I went to Hayden. Cold cloudy day.

Jan 16     Paul and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy cold and blustery day.

Jan 17     Nothing but chores done today. Fair and very cold day. 4 below zero this morning. Coldest morning this winter so far.

Jan 18     This morning I am sandpapering and oiling the auto wheels. Nothing done this evening. Fair cold day.

Jan 19     Today I hauled out some manure and hauled in some wood. Cloudy and some warmer. Tonight Bess and I went over to Zion Church, last night of their revival.

Jan 20     This morning I painted the auto wheels. This evening I hauled out manure. Fair warm, thawing weather.

Jan 21     I went to town today. Fair warm day.

Jan 22     Today we all went to Hayden to the Dedication of the new school house. Had a large crowd and good speaking. Pleasant day. The roads of all kinds are very bad.

Jan 23     The children and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Will Derringer and wife were here . Pleasant day.

Jan 24     This morning I took can of cream to Hayden. Doing some chores this evening. Pleasant day.

Jan 25     I helped Bess wash today. Pleasant day.

Jan 26     Doing some chores today. Warm and cloudy day.

Jan 27     I walked to town today to attend the Short Course. Cloudy and some rain.

Jan 28     Bess and I drove the mules to town and had a little running away. Rainy day.

Jan 29     Bess and I went back to town again today to attend the Short Course. Rainy day.

Jan 31     I went to Seymour today to help Will Derringer about some money. Cloudy cooler.

Feb 1     This morning I helped Bess wash. This evening I took can of cream to Hayden. Cold day.

Feb 2     Today I cleaned the stables and hauled it out. Fair cold day.

Feb 3     Today I hauled load of wheat to Seymour. Fair cold day.

Feb 4     Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair cold day.

Feb 5     I am grinding some feed today. Also hauled in some wood. Pleasant day. Sade and Jemima came up on No.4 this morning. We all went to Hayden School supper tonight.

Feb 6     We are all home today. Eddie and Annie came over for dinner. Cool cloudy with little snow last night.

Feb 7     This morning I took Sade and Jemima to Hayden to meet No.7. They went home this morning. Nothing done today. Cloudy cold, some snow and sleet last night.

Feb 8     I went to Harry Johnston's sale today. Cloudy cold day.

Feb 9     This morning Paw he helped me haul in the last of my shock corn and this evening I helped him haul in the last of his fodder. Fair cool day.

Feb 10     I hauled out manure today. Pleasant day. Late this evening I took Bess to Hayden to Dr. Cramon, she isn't very well.

Feb 11     This morning I hauled out manure. This evening I hung up the meat to smoke. Pleasant day.

Feb 12     Nothing done today. Bess and Paul and Alice went to town today. Rainy afternoon. Tonight we went to the Lecture Course at Hayden. Heavy snowfall tonight.

Feb 13     Paul and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cold blustery day.

Feb 14     Nothing done this morning. This evening I started to put in a hayfork and track for John Adolph. Fair cold day.

Feb 15     This morning I helped Bess wash. This evening same as yesterday. Fair cold day.

Feb 16     This morning I hauled out manure. This evening I finished John Adolph's power fork track in his barn. Fair warm day.

Feb 17     Nothing but chores done today. Pleasant day. The roads are very bad.

Feb 18     I went to Dave Swartre's (?) sale today. Cloudy colder day.

Feb 19     I went to town today. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 20     The children and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Pleasant day.

Feb 24     This morning I went over to Ed Stewart's on some business. Doing some chores this evening. Cloudy and cold day.

Feb 25     Today I went to N. Vernon and then to Seymour on a land deal with Will Derringer. Cold cloudy day.

Feb 26     Today I went to town and closed the deal with Will Derringer on the Kirsch Farm. Cold snowy day.

Feb 27     Paul and I walked to church this morning. All home this evening. Cold blustery day.

Feb 28     Nothing but chores done today. Cloudy cold day. Bess and Paul and Alice went to Lecture Course at Hayden tonight. I stayed with Charles and Stewart, they are sick.

Feb 29     I went to Seymour today to Hopewell's horse sale. Cloudy cool day.

Mar 1     I hauled out manure this morning. A heavy snow fell this afternoon.

Mar 2     Joe Stewart came from Seymour this morning. Emmie, Eddie and Lawrence were here and they all agreed to sell Bess and myself the home place for $12,000. Joe went back again on the local. Cold blustery day.

Mar 3     This morning I took 18 old hens to Hayden 13 cents per pound. This evening I began to move. Took the manure spreader loaded over to Granny's place. Cold blustery day.

Mar 4     This morning Paul and I took load corn and load of lumber over to Granny's place. This evening I went to town. Fair cool day.

Mar 5     Paul and I went to church this morning. I had to begin to pack and get ready to move tomorrow. Pleasant day. This morning I took Granny over to Emmie's in the auto and left it over at the shed.

Mar 6     Today Clarence Baker began to work. He is going to work for us this season. Also we moved over on Granny Stewart's place today. Paw and Bill Adolph helped us. We hauled 8 loads of house furnishing today. Cloudy warmer. The roads are very bad.

Mar 7     Today Clarence and I hauled the hogs home and this evening we brought home the cattle. Blustery day. Had a hard storm this evening.

Mar 8     This morning I went to town. Clarence hauled 2 loads of undivided corn in the crib as Bess' part. This evening we went over after the colts and brought along a load of insilage. Cold blustery day.

Mar 9     Today Clarence hauled 2 loads of corn from over there. This morning I dug out part of the cellar drain to get the water out of the cellar. This evening I got load of kitchen household and some fruit at old home.

Mar 10     This morning Clarence and I weighed 2 loads of hay out of barn as Bess' part for feed. This evening we went after load of wood and load of insilage. Pleasant day.

Mar 11     This morning Clarence and I cleaned the cellar. This evening Clarence went after load of silage. Bess and I went to town to make the deed of farm to Will Derringer at $4,880. Pleasant day.

Mar 12     The children and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Mar 13     This morning Clarence and I repaired some barnyard fence. This evening we all went to H. T. Nordloh's burial at Hayden. He died last Friday 10th. Pleasant day.

Mar 14     This morning I went to town to have the sale bills struck. Clarence went after load of things at other place. Nothing done this evening. Rain snowfall this evening.

Mar 15     This morning we went after load of feed. This evening we are doing some cleaning around these building. Cold blustery with some snow.

Mar 16     Doing some repairing around the buildings and yard fences today. Cold blustery with some snow.

Mar 17     This morning we got 2 loads of our canned fruit and one of feed and potatoes. This evening we cleaned the kitchen and put in our own stove. Live Boner helped us. Pleasant day.

Mar 18     This morning we went after 2 more loads of things. This evening Bess and I went to town. Clarence is cleaning and burning some brush in the orchard. Pleasant day.

Mar 19     Paul and I went to confession this morning. Home the balance of day. Clarence went home for dinner. Pleasant day.

Mar 20     Today we hauled home 3 loads. 1 of feed and 2 wood. Pleasant day.

Mar 21     Today Clarence is cleaning and burning brush in the orchard. I helped him til noon. Then I went to the Ewing Pike election at Hayden. Pleasant day.

Mar 22     This morning we are preparing things for the sale tomorrow. This evening I went to Hayden after Joe & Sade. Clarence went after load of feed. Cold blustery day.

Mar 23     Today we had a sale and sold Granny's household and I sold 3 horses and 3 cows. Pleasant day.

Mar 24     Today H. C. Meloy came out from town and we partly made the deed to William Stewart's farm. Pleasant day.

Mar 25     This morning Clarence is hauling manure in the garden. I took Joe & Sade to Hayden. They went home. This evening Bess and I went to town and made the deed to her father's farm. We are to pay $12,000 for it. We deeded the piece over the creek to Emma at $500., and pay her $1,100 and Eddie $1,600, Lawrence $1,600 and Joe $1,600 and have to pay Grandma 3 1/2% on her $4,000 as she doesn't want her money. Tonight Clarence Bess and Paul and Alice went to Hayden School, the pupils gave a play. Warm day with some rain.

Mar 26     My birthday. Clarence and Paul went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cloudy some rain.

Mar 27     Clarence and I are repairing some fence today. Cloudy cooler day.

Mar 28     Clarence and I are repairing yard fence today. Cloudy cool day.

Mar 29     Same as yesterday only I went to town after dinner after little more wallpaper. Mike McDonal is doing some papering. Pleasant day.

Mar 30     Today Clarence and I hauled 4 loads of hay from Derringer's home. My own hay. Fair warm day.

Mar 31     This morning we hauled home 2 load of hay. This evening Clarence hauled home load of feed. Bess and I, Emmie and Granny went to town to deed Emmie the 4 acres over the creek, also to make and sign up the contract between Granny and us for her $4,000 at 3 1/2% interest. Pleasant day.

Apr 1     This morning we hauled home 2 loads of hay. This evening Clarence went after load of insilage. Bess and I and Granny went to town, also Emmie went along. We made her a deed for the 4 acres over the creek. Pleasant day.

Apr 2     Paul, Clarence and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Cloudy cold damp day.

Apr 3     This morning we cleaned grass seed. This evening Clarence went after load of feed. I put some new plank on Indiana Creek Bridge. Cold damp cloudy day.

Apr 4     This morning we hauled home load of posts. This evening we put up new wash line. Pleasant and cool day.

Apr 5     Today I went to Web Spencer's sale. Clarence is repairing fence. Fair cool day.

Apr 6     This morning we went over to Derringer's after load of lumber and load of feed. This evening we repaired some fence. Fair cool day.

Apr 7     Today we are grading roads with 2 teams. Cloudy cold with some rain this evening.

Apr 8     Nothing but chores done this morning. This evening Bess and I went to town. This evening Clarence went after load of feed. Rain snow all day. Still snowing tonight. Very bad day.

Apr 9     Clarence and Paul went to church this morning. This evening Bess and I went up to Ed's. Fair cool day.

Apr 10     This morning Clarence helped to pull the Peddler over some bad road. I split some wood. This evening I went to Hayden after some bran and brought home load of feed. Clarence is repairing fence. Fair cool day.

Apr 11     Clarence is repairing fence today. Will Mullen and Aunt Jane Gannon visited here today. Pleasant day.

Apr 12     Today Clarence is helping Henry Burgmeyer put in part of Indian Creek levy. I planted potatoes in the garden and set out onions. Pleasant day.

Apr 13     This morning I hauled Jane Gannon a load of hay. Clarence is working on the levy. This evening we brought home load of hay and load of silage. Fair warm day.

Apr 14     This morning Clarence and I worked in a broken tile ditch. This evening Clarence took load of hay to Charles Hammond at town. Bess and I went to town. Fair cool day.

Apr 15     Today we showed 5 acres of oats in 15 acre field. Fair cool day.

Apr 16     This morning we went to church. Palm Sunday. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Apr 17     This morning we are harrowing and rolling the oats ground to sow clover in it. We hauled manure on potato patch. Pleasant day.

Apr 18     This morning I sowed clover seed in the oats and Paul and Clarence harrowed and rolled it into the ground. This evening Clarence went after load of feed and I plowed the potato patch. Late this evening we began to take off stocks in Betsy Bottoms. Pleasant day with little rain late this evening.

Apr 19     This morning we began to plow for corn. This evening we planted potatoes. Fair warm day.

Apr 20     This morning we plowed for corn, began to rain at noon and rained hard all afternoon. The creek is rising fast.

Apr 21     The creek is all over the Bottoms today. This morning I moved the last load of tools from Derringer's. Clarence hauled load of feed. I have enough feed to last yet next week. This evening Bess and I went to town. Clarence split wood. Fair cool day.

Apr 22     This morning we hauled up a pile of old rails and plank that lay around the yard. This evening Clarence went to Hayden to St. Tennial. Joe Stewart & family came here today. They are going to move from Seymour to Louisville. Pleasant day.

Apr 23     Easter Sunday. The children and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Joe and Sade are here. Pleasant day.

Apr 24     This morning Joe Stewart and family went home. Clarence and I are building some fence. This evening I sent Clarence to town with May and Lottie to breed to Corlock's horse. Bess and I went to Hayden. Warm cloudy threatening day.

Apr 25     Today we are repairing fence. Cloudy cool with some rain.

Apr 26     Cold rain all day today. We shelled some seed corn today.

Apr 27     Doing some fence repairing this morning. This evening Clarence and I went after load of silage. I also brought the bull along over from Paw's. Cold cloudy, little rain.

Apr 28     This morning we are trimming hedge fence. This evening Bess and I went to town. I paid my taxes. Clarence is repairing fence. Cool fair day.

Apr 29     This morning we are trimming hedge fence. This evening we all went to town. This morning I sold Murl cow to L.A. White. Pleasant day.

Apr 30     This morning I and the children went to church. This evening we went over to Paw's. Pleasant day.

May 1     After two weeks of wet weather we began to plow again today. Fair cool day.

May 2     Today we did nothing but chores except this evening Clarence went after last load of silage. Bess and I went to Hayden this evening. Little rain all day. Today Ollie Baker gets married at Cincinnati, Ohio.

May 3     We shelled seed corn this morning. This evening we trimmed hedge fence. Heavy rain this morning.

May 4     This morning Clarence and I are tilling some. This evening I went to town. Clarence finished trimming the hedge fence. Fair cool day.

May 5     Clarence and I are still doing some tilling in Sullivan Bottoms this morning. This evening Bess and I went to town. Clarence is hauling out manure. Fair cool day.

May 6     We are plowing, finished the Betsy Bottoms this evening and began in Long Bottoms. Fair warm day.

May 7     The children and I went to church this morning. We are all home this evening. Pleasant day.

May 8     The boys are harrowing the Betsy Bottoms today and I began to plant after dinner. Fair warm day.

May 9     We are plowing in Long Bottoms today. Fair warm day.

May 12     We are plowing in Long Bottoms today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Cloudy, cool with little rain this evening.

May 13     Today we plowed in Long Bottoms, rolled harrowed and planted it. I went to town late this evening after Preacher Reese. He stays here over Sunday. Fair warm day.

May 14     Today we all went to Zion Church. Home through the day. Maw and Lena were here this evening. Fair warm day.

May 15     This morning I took Preacher Reese back to the train. Nothing done this morning on account of some rain. This evening began to plow in 15 acre field. This evening Granny went to see Cindy Barns, she is very sick. Cloudy cool with some rain.

May 16     Today we are plowing in 15 acre field. Very cool and cloudy. Little rain this morning.

May 17     We finished plowing the 15 acre field today. Fair cool day.

May 18     Today we rolled, harrowed and planted 10 acres in the 15 acre field. The other 5 acres are sowed in oats. Cold cloudy day.

May 19     Today we began to disk corn in the Sullivan Bottoms. Bess and I went to town this evening. Granny and Ell came back from Sulwdy(?) this evening. Lucindy Barns is no better. Fair warmer weather.

May 20     Clarence is listing corn in Sullivan Bottoms today. I am braking and raking stocks. Late this evening Bess and I went to town. Pleasant day.

May 21     We are all home this morning. This evening we all went to Seymour to see Albert's folks. Cloudy cool little rain.

May 22     Nothing done this morning. Rainy morning. This evening Clarence listed corn. The rain made the ground work fine. I went over to Paw's after seed corn.

May 23     Today Clarence finished listing corn in Sullivan Bottoms. Then we began to plow under 4 acres of wheat in the upper Betsy Bottoms that Emmie sowed but is no good. Fair hot day.

May 24     We are plowing and harrowing today. Fair hot day.

May 25     We finished plowing for corn today. Also planted some. I went to town this evening after flour. Hot sultry day.

May 26     This morning we finished harrowing and planting but may have to plant the Long Bottoms over. This evening Clarence hauled manure on the planted corn. I took can of cream to Hayden. Hot sultry day.

May 27     Today we harrowed and planted part of Long Bottoms over. Bess and I went to town this evening. Hot sultry, a shower of rain about 5 o'clock.

May 28     The children and I went to church this evening. Bess and I took a drive above Vernon. Pleasant day.

May 29     Rain all day today. Nothing much done. I took Maud mare to town to breed this morning.

May 30     This morning we are pulling dock out of oats to keep it from seeding. This evening we all went over to Cemetery to clean the graves. Decoration Day. Fair cool day.

May 31     This morning Clarence plowed a patch for late potatoes. I went to Hayden after oil and gas but it didn't come. This evening I went to town with Molly to breed. Clarence began to plow corn. Fair cool day.

Jun 1     Ascension Day. We went to church this morning. All home this evening. Pleasant day.

Jun 2     This morning Clarence plowed corn till 9 o'clock then we all went to the Circus at town. Had a very heavy storm and rain about 2 o'clock, blew down the McMelon barn north of town. Killed and injured some stock.

Jun 3     Nothing much done today too wet to farm. The creek is bank full. Fair cool day.

Jun 4     We all went to church this morning. All home this evening. Fair cool day.

Jun 5     Clarence worked on road today. I took 3 head of hogs to town, sold to J.G. Marsh. He ships his first carload from there. This evening I plowed potatoes and set out some plants. Fair cool day.

Jun 6     Nothing done today. Rain all day. The creek is out in the Bottoms tonight. This evening Bess and I went up on the pike and got a create of strawberries.

Jun 7     This morning Clarence and Paul went over to Paw's after load of corn. I helped Bess wash. This evening I went to Vernon to see about the taxes on the Long Bottoms. Clarence is cutting dock out of the meadow. Fair cool day.

Jun 8     Clarence and I are cutting dock out of the meadow. This evening we are doing some work around the stables. Cloudy, some rain.

Jun 9     This morning Clarence and I worked some road. This evening Bess and I went to town. Clarence is cleaning up and burning some brush. Cool day, raining again tonight.

Jun 10     Some rain today. Clarence split some wood today. I made and painted some window screens today.

Jun 11     The children and I went to church this morning. This evening we all went to Zion to Children's Day exercises. Fair cool day.

Jun 12     After ten days of wet weather we began to plow corn again today and the ground is wet enough yet. Fair warmer day.

Jun 13     Clarence is plowing corn today. This morning I went over to Paw's after small load of hay. This evening I plowed corn. Fair warm day.

Jun 14     We are plowing corn today. Hot and sultry day. Raining tonight.

Jun 15     The rain last night made it too wet to plow this morning. So we repaired some fence. This evening we plowed corn again. Cloudy warm day.

Jun 16     Nothing done this morning. Bess and I went to town this evening. Clarence trimming hedge fence. Still more rain today.

Jun 17     Nothing done today. Clarence went to Seymour to purchase a suit of clothes. Another rain today.

Jun 18     This morning we all went to N. Vernon Church. Home for dinner. This evening we went over to Will Derringer's. Warm cloudy with a good shower. Rain about 4 o'clock.

Jun 19     Nothing done this morning. This evening we plowed corn again. Fair warm day.

Jun 20     We are plowing corn today. Warm and sultry with little rain about 3 o'clock.

Jun 21     Nothing done this morning. Had a very heavy rain last night and the creek is out over the Bottoms. This evening Clarence and Paul went to Mortin Gerth's after strawberry sets to plant. Cloudy cool.

Jun 22     This morning we are preparing a patch for strawberry plants. This evening we set out one thousand plants. Cloudy cool. Tonight we all went to town tonight.

Jun 23     Clarence is plowing corn today. Bess and I went to town this evening. Fair & warm.

Jul 2     The children and I went to church this morning then went over to Paw's for dinner. Louise is home for few days. Albert and wife are there. They came home with us. Hot sultry with heavy rain and storm tonight.

Jul 3     Clarence and Paul went to Paw's after load of corn this morning. This evening we hoed weeds out of corn. Jemima Stewart come here last night. Also Louise is here for dinner today. Fair warm day.

Jul 4     This morning we began to lay by corn in Betsy Bottoms. Clarence went to picnic at Corners this evening. I had Dr. Shuman out for May. She ate too much green corn this morning. Tonight we all went to picnic at Corners. Fair warm day.

Jul 5     We are laying by corn in Long Bottoms today. Fair warm day.

Jul 15     Clarence is mowing hay this morning. I am laying by corn this evening. We put up 4 loads of hay. Hot sultry day.

Jul 16     The children and I went to St. Marys Church this morning. All home this evening and tonight. Paw and Maw were over this evening. Very hot day.

Jul 17     This morning Paul is cutting hay. Clarence and I are cutting oats. This evening we took up 3 loads of hay. Hot sultry day.

Jul 18     This morning Paul is cutting hay. Clarence and I finished cutting oats. This evening we took up 4 loads of hay. Hot sultry day.

Jul 19     This morning Clarence finished laying by corn. I mowed hay. This evening we had a little rain that hindered us putting up hay, so we picked strawberries.

Jul 22     Clarence is cutting some hay this morning. I went over to Jess Cook's to see about some repairs of his old binder. This evening we took up 4 loads of hay. Hot sultry weather.

Jul 23     The children and I went to 7 o'clock mass at town this morning. Late this evening we all went back to town to go to the fairground. This week will be our county fair. Hot and sultry day.

Jul 24     Clarence is cutting hay this morning. I reset May and Lottie's shoes. Then helped Bess wash. This evening we took up 3 loads of hay. Hot sultry day.

Jul 25     This morning Clarence finished cutting hay. I am mowing some weeds along the fences. This evening we took up the last 3 loads of hay. All done haying now. Fair hot day.

Jul 26     This morning we took 5 head of Jersey cattle to the Jennings County Fair for show. Clarence and I were at the fair today. Hot sultry day.

Jul 27     We all went to the county fair today. Clarence stays there day and night with the cattle. I took 3 first prizes on them $11.00. Hot sultry day.

Sep 23     This morning Paul and I went to early mass. Then Bess and I and Alvin Marsh & Grace drove to Madison, Ind. Pleasant day. Today afternoon James Canfield died.

Sep 24     Today Andy is disking for wheat. This morning I went to Baker's after 11 bu seed wheat. This evening I took a calf to Fox Bros. Also took 13 bu of old corn to town. Fair warm day.

Sep 25     Andy is disking wheat ground. Bess and I went to J. Canfield's funeral. This evening I thrashed 1 bu of beans. Pleasant day.

Sep 26     Andy is harrowing today. I cut few shocks corn and got in 2 loads for feed. Fair warm day.

Sep 27     Andy is harrowing today. I took Emmie's disk home this morning, also got in load of green corn. About 4 o'clock a good rain. Maw was over this evening.

Sep 28     This morning we cleaned seed wheat and this evening we got in some feed. Fair cool day.

Sep 29     This morning we dug the potatoes in the garden. This evening Alice and I went to town. The boys got in two loads of feed. Fair cool day.

Oct 7     This morning the children and I went to church. This evening we went over to Paw's. Fair cool with more frost this morning. The corn begins to tell the frost it has had.

Oct 8     This morning we husked load of corn for hogs. This evening Andy is harrowing and sowing a wash in the Long Bottoms. I went to town after a Jersey male calf sent from Madison from Jos. Craven. Fair cold day.

Oct 9     Today we filled silo at Will Dierringer's. Fair cool day.

Oct 10     Today we filled silo at F. Fisher's. Cloudy and cool with little rain this morning.

Oct 11     This morning they finished Fisher's silo and moved to W. R. Oyler's. The rain stopped them at 4 o'clock. I husked load of corn for hogs this morning. This evening preparing the silo for filling.

Oct 12     Today Andy is helping to fill Oyler's silo. I am getting in feed. Cloudy cold day.

Oct 13     Today we are filling our silo. Fair cool day. Had a heavy frost this morning, froze the ground.

Oct 14     This morning the children and I went to church at town. Home this evening. Fair cool day.

Oct 15     This morning we gathered corn for feed. Just before noon I went to Canfiel's sale. This evening we finished filling our silo. Pleasant day.

Oct 20     This morning we finished filling Ray Marsh's silo and after dinner filled for Alvin Marsh. I went to town this evening. Fair cool.

Oct 21     The children and I went to early mass at town this morning. All home this evening. Paw & Maw and Louise and Florence Baker were here this evening. Fair cool day.

Oct 23     Today Andy is helping McQuade fill his silo. I am getting in feed all day. Cloudy cold with little snowstorms.

Oct 24     Today Andy is hauling out manure. This morning I am getting the stables in order for the colts and young cattle. This evening I went to town. Cold cloudy day.

Oct 25     Today we finished sowing wheat in the 15 Acre field. Cool, partly cloudy day.

Oct 26     This morning we sorted and put 30 bu. potatoes in the cellar. This evening Andy husked load of corn for feed. I hauled in corn and fodder. Rain this morning, cool cloudy this evening.

Oct 27     This morning we got in corn and fodder for feed till it rained us out. This evening we all went to town. Andy also went. Cloudy cold with some rain.

Oct 28     Paul & Alice went to church. Bess and I took Harold to the doctor and then went to Paw's for dinner. Lena is home. She is on her way to Evansville to her new home. Fair cool day.

Oct 29     This morning Andy husked load of corn for feed and I hauled in load of corn and fodder. Had a heavy rain at noon and this evening. We repaired the stables this evening to bring in the colts and young cattle.

Oct 30     This morning we husked load of corn. This evening I took a calf to town and Andy hauled out manure. Cold blustery day.

Oct 31     This morning I got in feed. This evening I went to town on Red Cross Mission. Andy is gathering soft corn for feed. Cold blustery day.

Nov 1     All Saints Day. The children and I went to church this morning. All home this evening. Cold blustery with some snow today.

Dec 25     Christmas Day. I went to church this morning. We all ate dinner at Eddie's today. Cold cloudy with little snow that fell last night. Yesterday morning about 6 o'clock, Frank Keller dropped dead at his house.

Dec 26     Today we cleaned the colt stable and hauled on the garden. Fair cold day.

Dec 27     Nothing but chores done today. Cold cloudy day.

Dec 28     Cold blustery snowy. This afternoon I went above Hayden to buy a male pig and brought it along home.

Dec 29     This morning I took load of soft corn to mill to have shelled and some ground. This evening Bess and I went to town. Cloudy cold day.

Dec 30     Last night about 1 o'clock the B&O, S.W. RR had a terrible wreck. Killed and wounded many people. Paul and I and Stewart Euler and Frank Fisher went to see the wreck today. 3 engines mashed up. Very cold cloudy day.

Dec 31     Today I took the old bull to town, sold to Hutton. Cloudy cold day.

This has been rather a poor year. The season was so wet that corn was so late that it didn't mature. This has been the coldest December I have ever seen. 10-20 below 0.
